Dominique Spann is a sensitivity consultant, cultural advisor and freelancer television producer.
Everyone has a journey. For some, their path has been met with anguish that goes beyond the pale of what one could ever imagine. For almost 14 years, Dominique has researched, booked, and produced countless true crime stories, often helping deeply traumatized victims and their families tell their stories, for the first time. As a fellow creative in the genre for many years, she has learned it’s pivotal to strike a balance in storytelling, by capturing the headline but humanity is still present. Dominique tries to accomplish this by laboring to push the narrative and environments with authenticity, sensitivity, and promise for inclusion. She specializes in training on thoughtful outreach to those who have experienced unimaginable trauma, serves as an authenticity reader to scripting, and brings awareness plus solutions to cultural bias that permeates in front and behind the lens. Dominique hopes that by being a leveling voice with humility, together, we all can continue to elevate the true crime genre.
